well all you need is 2 eggs and four oz of : sugar, self raising flour and butter. Put in a little bit of baking powder about half a teaspoon full to make it rise nicely . Let the butter soften to room temp and then with the back of a spoon cream together the sugar and butter, then seive in the flour add the eggs and bakjng powder and whisk with a fork if you can it works better than if you use an electric whisk. The more you beat the mixture the smoother it gets and the smoother it gets the more fluffy and light the cake will be. use grease proof paper or butter the tin, put in the oven at 180 degrees C and bake in the middle shelf for about 20 mins. if you want more mixture just use 4 eggs and 8 oz of everything. As for the icing simply icing sugar, water and food colouring. Add some water to the icing sugar a little at a time making your own judgement as to how much icing you need and measurements. then add the colouring accordingly. Otherwise you can make butter icing, just use butter and icing sugar and add the food colouring when at the right thick consistancy. i would reccomend the water and icing sugar one as you want bright colouring for the icing.
The easy way 4u is buy a cake mix.
mix 100g of self raisin flour 100g margarine 2 eggs and 100g suger

pour into a tin and put in the oven on 180 degrees and leave for 15-20mins
