Have you heard of the 7-up cake? can you share your recipe with me?

Yes, I've heard of it. You can also use any other type of soda and mix with different types of cakes for different flavors.








Basic soda cake recipe





1 (18 ounce) box dry cake mix (any flavor)


10 ounces soda (any flavor)


1-2 egg white or whole egg (slightly beaten, optional but cake stays together better and is fluffier)











Here are some popular combos that you could use in the recipe -





# orange cake / Mountain Dew


# cherry chip cake / A%26amp; W Cream soda


# lemon + lemon;


# angel or yellow cake/orange pop


# peach with white cake


# spice cake/ lemon-lime pop


# ginger ale + white


# cherry sodas in chocolate cake


# cola + devils food or chocolate mix


# vanilla coke in chocolate cake


# devils food cake with Vanilla coke


# root beer with chocolate cake


# cherry coke with chocolate cake


# marble cake +cream soda


# lemon with tangerine Rite.

7-Up Cake Recipes





Ingredients:


1 1/2 cup Butter, softened


3 cups Sugar


5 Eggs


3 cups Flour


2 teaspoons Lemon extract


3/4 cup 7UP


Confectioner's sugar








Directions:





Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, lemon extract, and 7UP; mix well.





Pour into greased angel food (or bundt) pan. Bake 325F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Let stand for at least 10 minutes before removing from cake pan. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.





This recipe for 7 Up Cake serves/makes 12





7-Up Layer Cake With Coconut Pineapple Frosting Recipe











2 sticks butter


1/2 cup vegetable shortening


3 cups sugar


5 eggs


1 teaspoon lemon extract


3 cups all-purpose flour


7 ounces bottle 7-UP, room-temperature


***COCONUT FROSTING***


1 can (16 oz. size) crushed-pineapple, undrained


1/2 cup butter


1 1/2 cup sugar


3 tablespoons flour


2 eggs, beaten


1 can coconut








Directions:





For Cake: Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add lemon extract. Add portions of 7-UP and flour alternately, beating well after each addition.





Bake in greased 10-inch tube pan at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done. Top cake with coconut frosting while hot. Serve cake hot or cold.





For Frosting: Put all ingredients into a saucepan. Cook together, stirring frequently as it thickens. Remove from heat. Add coconut and blend well.
This used to be a very popular cake!!!





7-Up Cake





Ingredients


1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened


3 cups granulated sugar


5 eggs


3 cups all-purpose flour


2 teaspoon lemon extract


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


3/4 cup 7-Up


Confectioners' sugar for dusting





Instructions


Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Grease ad lightly flour a 10-inch tube pan. Set it aside. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the flour. Than add the lemon and vanilla extract. Beat well. Gently fold in the 7-Up 1/4 cup at a time. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Transfer the cake from the oven to a wire rack. Let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Unmold the cake onto the wire rack to cool completely. Transfer to a serving platter and dust with confectioners' sugar.





Makes one 10 inch tube cake or bundt pan.
