Recipe for heavy cake?

anyone have a recipe for heavy cake? I had it when I was in Cornwall and cannot find it anywhere else...Recipe for heavy cake?
HEAVY CAKE


2 c. flour


2 lg. potatoes


1 c. raisins


1 c. chopped suet


1 tsp. baking powder


2 tbsp. sugar


1 tsp. salt


1/4 tsp. nutmeg


1/4 c. melted butter


1 c. milk


Mix dry ingredients, add mashed potato, raisins and suet. Mix with nutmeg, butter and milk.Recipe for heavy cake?
Ingredients:





Flour 8 oz


1 egg


1 dash of milk


As many currants and sultanas as you like


Pinch of Salt





Method:





Mix all the ingredients together like a pasty and knead for a while. Then roll out to roughly 1 inch thick. Place on a baking tray and draw criss cross patterns over it with a knife. Then bake for roughly half an hour or until crusty and hard
