I need a good recipe for icing for a wedding cake. I want the thick set icing, not sure if called mascarpone?

Think we have decided on a cupcake tier cake but I think the thicker 'wedding' icing will look nicer than the normal frosting. ThanksI need a good recipe for icing for a wedding cake. I want the thick set icing, not sure if called mascarpone?
Do you mean marzipan? That is like almond paste and VERY sweet and you usually can't get it in bright white. Fondant is also thick, if you go this route, make sure your baker makes it from scratch and can add flavor otherwise it is not tasty at all. I suppose a baker could make an icing using mascarpone to replace the cream cheese. Hope this helped.
